  1. ISRO launches PSLV C-45 carrying EMISAT & 28 nano satellites

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a Defence Intelligence Satellite, EMISAT along with 28 other customer satellites in its 47th Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) mission.

The PSLV C-45 was launched from ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. It is the first time ISRO is launching satellites in three different orbits. Along with that, the PSLV-C45 launch vehicle is also the first PSLV rocket to use four strapon motors.

  1. GRSE becomes 1st Indian Shipyard to deliver 100 warships

Garden Reach Ship Builders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) became the first Indian shipyard’ to build and deliver 100 warships. GRSE Chairman and Managing Director, Rear Admiral (Retd) V K Saxena, formally handed over the 100th warship ‘IN LCU L56’ to the Indian Navy.

  1. India complete gold medal clean sweep in 10m Air Rifle event

Indian shooters made a clean sweep of gold medals in 10m Air Rifle event at the 12th Asian Airgun Championships in Taoyuan, Taipei. India have won 12 out of 14 gold medals so far and their overall tally stands at 12 gold, four silver and two bronze medals. The competition concludes on Monday with the 10m Air Rifle junior events.

Executive Director of ICICI Bank, Vijay Chandok has been appointed as MD and CEO of ICICI Securities, a subsidiary of ICICI bank. He will succeed Shilpa Naval Kumar. He joined the ICICI Group in 1993. At present, he is on the boards of ICICI Bank UK PLC and ICICI Bank Canada and is the Chairman of ICICI Investment Management Company

Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain GP after Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who was leading for most of the race, missed the chance to become Ferrari’s youngest ever race winner due to an engine failure. Leclerc finished the race at the third spot as Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas secured the second position ahead of him.

Tesla has developed its largest power storage system in Asia’ at Osaka train station in Japan to reduce energy demand and provide emergency backup power to trains in Japan. It was launched in partnership with Kintetsu, a railway operator in Japan’s Osaka.

 

  1. Miami Open: Federer win 101st career title

Switzerland’s Roger Federer defeats USA’s John Isner in straight sets to lift his 101 st career title at the Miami Open. Federer is now behind only America’s Jimmy Connors with 109 career singles titles.

Roger Federer has lifted his fourth title at the Miami Open. It is Swiss player’s 28th Masters’ title and the 101st overall for a player who has won 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

गार्डन रीच शिप बिल्डर्स एंड इंजीनियर्स लिमिटेड (जीआरएसई) 100 युद्धपोत बनाने और वितरित करने वाला पहला भारतीय शिपयार्ड बन गया। जीआरएसई के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक, रियर एडमिरल (सेवानिवृत्त) वी के सक्सेना ने औपचारिक रूप से भारतीय नौसेना को 100 वां युद्धपोत ‘IN LCU L56’ सौंपा।

भारतीय निशानेबाजों ने ताइपे में 12 वीं एशियाई एयरगन चैंपियनशिप में 10 मीटर एयर राइफल स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। भारत ने अब तक 14 में से 12 स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं और उनकी कुल मिलाकर 12 स्वर्ण, चार रजत और दो कांस्य पदक हैं। प्रतियोगिता का समापन सोमवार को 10 मीटर एयर राइफल जूनियर स्पर्धाओं के साथ हुआ।

टेस्ला ने जापान की ट्रेनों में ऊर्जा की मांग को कम करने और आपातकालीन बैकअप शक्ति प्रदान करने के लिए जापान में ओसाका ट्रेन स्टेशन पर एशिया में अपना सबसे बड़ा पावर स्टोरेज सिस्टम विकसित किया है। इसे जापान के ओसाका में एक रेलवे ऑपरेटर किंत्सु के साथ साझेदारी में लॉन्च किया गया था।
