TCIL to raise $1,500 crore from IPO
New Delhi: State-owned Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) expects to raise roughly Rs 1,500 crore from its planned IPO and wants to retain part of the proceeds — about Rs 600 crore – for expansion and working capital needs, according to a company source.

Wrestler Bajrang wins gold in Bulgaria, dedicates medal to Abhinandan
Wrestler Bajrang Punia won the gold medal at the Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov tournament in Ruse, Bulgaria and dedicated the victory to Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Bajrang beat Jordan Oliver of the US 12-3 in the 65-kg freestyle final to clinch the gold. “[Abhinandan] has inspired me. I want to meet him…and…shake hands with him,” Bajrang tweeted.

AN Jha replaces Shaktikanta Das as 15th Finance Commission member
Former Finance Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha has joined as a member of the 15th Finance Commission. Jha has been posted in place of Shaktikanta Das who had resigned as a member of the Commission after being appointed the RBI Governor. A 1982-batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, Jha retired as a Finance Secretary to the central government on February 28.

IAF pilot Abhinandan to get ‘Bhagwan Mahavir Ahimsa Puraskar’
Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will be awarded with the ‘Bhagwan Mahavir Ahimsa Puraskar’ instituted by the Akhil Bharatiya Digambar Jain Mahasamiti. Abhinandan, who returned to India after being in Pakistan’s custody for 58 hours, will become the first recipient of the award. The award carries a cash prize of 32.51 lakh, a memento and a citation.

306 infra projects in J&K cleared
A high-powered committee has approved funding of 306 fresh projects involving an investment of 1,241.65 crore, an official spokesman said on Sunday. A government committee cleared these projects, including 224 projects of Public Health Engineering Department.
CISF sets Guinness record for longest single line cycle parade
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) created the Guinness World Record for ‘longest single line bicycle parade (moving)’ in Noida on Sunday. CISF personnel rode 1,327 bicycles non-stop in a single line, maintaining a uniform distance between the bicycles. The record was earlier held by Hubballi Bicycle Club of India, with 1,235 bicycles in a single chain.
