  1. BIS and IIT-Delhi inks MoU on standardisation and conformity assessment

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has inked an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) to collaborate in the field of standardisation and conformity assessment. The MoU was signed by IIT Delhi Director Professor V Ramgopal Rao and Director General of BIS Surina Rajan.

According to the MoU, IIT Delhi will provide infrastructure support for research and development projects of relevance to standardisation and BIS will provide financial support to IIT Delhi for projects.

  1. Karnataka Bank signs pact with Bharti AXA for insurance products

Karnataka Bank has entered into an MoU with Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company to distribute the latter’s life insurance products. The bank will be able to provide a wide choice of life insurance products to its customers across 836 branches, supported by the products of Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company.

This is the third such tie-up by the bank after PNB MetLife Life Insurance Company and LIC of India, both of which continue to provide insurance solutions to the customers of Karnataka Bank.

  1. Moscow Exchange signs deals with BSE, India INX

Russia’s Moscow Exchange said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and India International Exchange (India INX). The move aims to ease the access of Indian capital to the Russian market. This comes as Russia looks to attract a wider investor pool amid sanctions by the US and the European Union.

  1. 7th foreign office consultations between India and Italy held in Delhi

The 7th Foreign Office consultations between India and Italy were held in New Delhi. The Indian side was led by Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, A. Gitesh Sarma. The Italian side was led by Director General of Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Luca Sabbatucci.

These consultations were aimed to provide an opportunity to review the follow-up actions taken after the visit of Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in October 2018 as well as the entire range of bilateral relations.

  1. C S Rajan appointed MD of IL&FS

C S Rajan has been appointed Managing Director while Vineet Nayyar named as Executive Vice-Chairman of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS). Rest of the new board comprises of Bijay Kumar as the deputy managing director and GC Chaturvedi, Nand Kishore, Malini Shankar, and N. Srinivasan as non-executive directors.

भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआईएस) ने मानकीकरण और अनुरूपता मूल्यांकन के क्षेत्र में सहयोग करने के लिए भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, दिल्ली (आईआईटी-डी) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। एमओयू पर IIT दिल्ली के निदेशक प्रोफेसर वी रामगोपाल राव और BIS के महानिदेशक सुरीना राजन ने हस्ताक्षर किए।

एमओयू के अनुसार, आईआईटी दिल्ली मानकीकरण के लिए प्रासंगिकता के अनुसंधान और विकास परियोजनाओं के लिए बुनियादी ढांचा समर्थन प्रदान करेगा और बीआईएस परियोजनाओं के लिए आईआईटी दिल्ली को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करेगा।

  1. कर्नाटक बैंक बीमा उत्पादों के लिए भारती एक्सा के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

कर्नाटक बैंक ने बाद के जीवन बीमा उत्पादों को वितरित करने के लिए भारती एक्सा लाइफ इंश्योरेंस कंपनी के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन किया है। बैंक भारती एक्सा लाइफ इंश्योरेंस कंपनी के उत्पादों द्वारा समर्थित 836 शाखाओं में अपने ग्राहकों को जीवन बीमा उत्पादों की एक विस्तृत पसंद प्रदान करने में सक्षम होगा।

पीएनबी मेटलाइफ लाइफ इंश्योरेंस कंपनी और भारत के एलआईसी के बाद बैंक द्वारा यह तीसरा ऐसा टाई-अप है, जो दोनों कर्नाटक बैंक के ग्राहकों को बीमा समाधान प्रदान करते हैं।

  1. मॉस्को स्टॉक ने बीएसई के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

रूस के मॉस्को एक्सचेंज ने कहा कि उसने बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज (बीएसई) और इंडिया इंटरनेशनल एक्सचेंज (इंडिया आईएनएक्स) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। इस कदम का उद्देश्य रूसी बाजार तक भारतीय पूंजी की पहुंच को आसान बनाना है। यह तब होता है जब रूस अमेरिका और यूरोपीय संघ द्वारा प्रतिबंधों के बीच एक व्यापक निवेशक पूल को आकर्षित करता है।

  1. दिल्ली में भारत और इटली के बीच 7 वें विदेशी कार्यालय परामर्श आयोजित किया गया

भारत और इटली के बीच 7 वें विदेश कार्यालय के परामर्श नई दिल्ली में आयोजित किए गए। भारतीय पक्ष का नेतृत्व विदेश मंत्रालय के सचिव (पश्चिम) ए. गीतेश सरमा ने किया। इतालवी पक्ष का नेतृत्व इटली के विदेश मंत्रालय के वैश्विक मामलों के महानिदेशक लुका सब्बाटुची के नेतृत्व में किया गया था।

इन परामर्शों का उद्देश्य अक्टूबर 2018 में इतालवी प्रधान मंत्री गिउसेप कोंटे की यात्रा के बाद और साथ ही द्विपक्षीय संबंधों की पूरी श्रृंखला के बाद की गई अनुवर्ती कार्रवाई की समीक्षा करने का अवसर प्रदान करना था।
