  1. Delhi government launches bike ambulance services

The Delhi government on Thursday launched bike ambulance services to ensure timely health assistance in congested areas. The bikes will have a portable oxygen cylinder, first aid kit and dressing materials, air-splints, GPS and communication device, among others. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said 16 bike ambulances have been launched and the number will go up in the future.

  1. 92-year-old Indian priest gets France’s highest civilian honour

Father Francois Laborde, a 92-year-old Indian priest, was conferred the insignia of the Officer of the Legion of Honour on Wednesday, France’s highest civilian honour. He was awarded in recognition of his work for differently abled children, the destitute and the most deprived sections of the society. Laborde had already been made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.

  1. India to buy missile defence systems from US for Air India One

The US has approved the sale of two missile defence systems to Air India One, the planes flying the President and the Prime Minister. India will purchase the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures Self-Protection Suites, at an estimated cost of $190 million. The Indian government plans to buy two Boeing 777 from Air India for the purpose.
