Gol targets to replace All level crossings on NH by Over/under Bridges
The Union Government of India is envisaging to replace all level crossings on National Highways by Over/under Bridges. The replacement of all the level crossings on National Highways by Road Over Bridges or Road Under Bridges will be executed under the Setu Bharatam scheme. GoI aims to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic and to decrease the road fatalities by 50% by 2020 with the replacement of All level crossings on NH by Over/under Bridges. The whole replacement work will be executed by Road Transport and Highways Ministry.
The Setu Bharatam Scheme was launched by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 4th March in 2016. The scheme aims to build rail over-bridges or underpasses for safe and seamless travel on National Highways and to make all National Highways free of railway level crossings in order to prevent the frequent accidents and loss of lives at level crossings.
Indian Army organizes Self Defence Training for Women
A unit of Indian Army has organized a Self Defence Training demonstration for Women with a theme of “Stronger You Stronger Society”. The Self Defence Training event was organized for the local womenfolk in Nalbari district of Assam. The training demonstration was held with an objective of addressing fear and to empower the girls morally, mentally and physically to defend themselves in any set of circumstances.
Ramesh Karki, an international taekwondo player of Indian Army conducted the demonstration along with two local players of International repute. The demonstration also featured the participation of around 250 girl students and staffs from various academic institutions of the Nalbari district.
EPFO slashes interest rate on deposits to 8.5% for 2019-20
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the retirement fund body has lowered the interest rate from 8.65% to 8.50% on provident fund deposits for the financial year 2019-20. The announcement of the reduced interest rate was made by Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar. The decision was taken during the meeting of the EPFO apex decision making body-the Central Board of Trustee, held in New Delhi.
BRAC tops the list of top 500 Global NGOs
BRAC, an international development organization has topped the list of top 500 Global Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). The list of the top 500 global NGOs of year 2020 was released by Geneva-based organization NGO Adviser. NGO Adviser releases the rankings of the top 500 global NGOs every year. The Bangladesh based international development organization, BRAC has retained its 1st rank in the list for the 5th consecutive year. The rankings are drawn by NGO Adviser by keeping in mind the various aspects such as the impact, innovation, governance and sustainability of the NGO.
Jan Aushadhi Diwas celebrated on 7th March
India celebrates 7th of March every year as Jan Aushadhi Diwas. The days aims to create awareness and providing thrust to the use of generic medicines. On the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have an interaction event with seven Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana Kendras through the video conferencing. The message of the Prime Minister will also be telecasted at every Jan Aushadhi outlet.
Janaushadhi Kendras is the world’s biggest retail pharma chain having around 6,200 outlets in 700 districts of the country. It also provides a good source of self-employment with sustainable and regular earnings. The first Jan Aushadhi Diwas was celebrated on 7th of March 2019.

Global sports brand PUMA has signed bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan as its new brand ambassador. She will be the face of the sports brand for its studio Collection which involves a low-intensity training apparel collection for yoga, barre and pilates workouts. The collaboration of the bollywood actress aims to encourage more women to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Combined shooting World Cup in New Delhi postponed over coronavirus
The combined shooting World Cup of rifle, pistol and shotgun scheduled to be held in New Delhi from March 15 to 26 has been postponed over coronavirus. The National Rifle Association of India has now proposed that the World Cup be held in two parts in May and June. According to reports, 23 countries had pulled out of the tournament.

एनएच पर ऑल लेवल क्रॉसिंग को ओवर ब्रिज/ अंडर ब्रिज के तहत बदलने का लक्ष्य
केंद्र सरकार भारत के सभी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर ओवर ब्रिज/ अंडर ब्रिज को बदलने की परिकल्पना कर रही है। रोड ओवर ब्रिज या रोड अंडर ब्रिज द्वारा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर सभी स्तर के क्रॉसिंग के प्रतिस्थापन को सेतु भारत योजना के तहत निष्पादित किया जाएगा। GoI का उद्देश्य यातायात के सुरक्षित और सुगम प्रवाह को सुनिश्चित करना और 2020 तक ओवर ब्रिज / अंडर ब्रिज के तहत NH पर ऑल लेवल क्रॉसिंग के प्रतिस्थापन के साथ 50% सड़क दुर्घटनाओं को कम करना है। पूरे प्रतिस्थापन कार्य को सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय द्वारा निष्पादित किया जाएगा।
सेतु भारतम योजना को भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा 4 मार्च 2016 को शुरू किया गया था। इस योजना का उद्देश्य राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर सुरक्षित और निर्बाध यात्रा के लिए रेल ओवर-ब्रिज या अंडरपास का निर्माण करना और सभी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों को रेलवे के विभाजन से मुक्त बनाना और लेवल क्रॉसिंग पर लगातार दुर्घटनाओं और जानमाल के नुकसान को रोकना है।
भारतीय सेना महिलाओं के लिए सेल्फ डिफेंस ट्रेनिंग का आयोजन किया
भारतीय सेना की एक इकाई ने “स्ट्रॉन्गर यू स्ट्रांगर सोसाइटी” के एक विषय के साथ महिलाओं के लिए एक आत्मरक्षा प्रशिक्षण प्रदर्शन का आयोजन किया है। असम के नलबाड़ी जिले में स्थानीय महिलाओं के लिए आत्मरक्षा प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया था। प्रशिक्षण प्रदर्शन का उद्देश्य भय को संबोधित करने और किसी भी परिस्थिति में खुद को बचाने के लिए मानसिक और शारीरिक रूप से लड़कियों को सशक्त बनाने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित किया गया था।
भारतीय सेना के एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय ताइक्वांडो खिलाड़ी रमेश कार्की ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ख्याति के दो स्थानीय खिलाड़ियों के साथ प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदर्शन में नलबाड़ी जिले के विभिन्न शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के लगभग 250 छात्राओं और कर्मचारियों की भागीदारी भी शामिल थी।
ईपीएफओ ने 2019-20 के लिए जमा पर ब्याज दर 8.5% तक घटा दी
कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन (EPFO), सेवानिवृत्ति निधि निकाय ने वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 के लिए भविष्य निधि जमा पर ब्याज दर को 8.65% से घटाकर 8.50% कर दिया है। कम ब्याज दर की घोषणा श्रम मंत्री संतोष गंगवार ने की थी। नई दिल्ली में आयोजित ईपीएफओ सर्वोच्च निर्णय लेने वाले निकाय-सेंट्रल बोर्ड ऑफ ट्रस्टी की बैठक के दौरान यह निर्णय लिया गया।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास संगठन BRAC, शीर्ष 500 वैश्विक गैर-सरकारी संगठनों (NGO) की सूची में शीर्ष स्थान पर है। वर्ष 2020 के शीर्ष 500 वैश्विक गैर सरकारी संगठनों की सूची जिनेवा स्थित संगठन एनजीओ सलाहकार द्वारा जारी की गई थी। एनजीओ सलाहकार हर साल शीर्ष 500 वैश्विक एनजीओ की रैंकिंग जारी करता है। बांग्लादेश आधारित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास संगठन, BRAC ने लगातार 5 वें वर्ष सूची में अपना पहला स्थान बरकरार रखा है। गैर-सरकारी संगठन सलाहकार द्वारा रैंकिंग तैयार की जाती है, जो एनजीओ के प्रभाव, नवाचार, शासन और स्थिरता जैसे विभिन्न पहलुओं को ध्यान में रखते हैं।
जन औषधी दिवस 7 मार्च को मनाया गया
भारत हर साल 7 मार्च को जन औषधी दिवस के रूप में मनाता है। दिनों का उद्देश्य जागरूकता पैदा करना और जेनेरिक दवाओं के उपयोग के लिए जोर प्रदान करना है। जन औषधी दिवस के अवसर पर, भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से सात प्रधान मंत्री भारतीय जनऔषधि केंद्रों के साथ बातचीत की है। प्रधानमंत्री के संदेश को हर जन औषधी के आउटलेट पर प्रसारित किया जाएगा।

नई दिल्ली में संयुक्त शूटिंग विश्व कप कोरोनोवायरस के कारण स्थगित हो गया
नई दिल्ली में 15 से 26 मार्च तक होने वाली राइफल, पिस्टल और शॉटगन का संयुक्त शूटिंग विश्वकप कोरोनोवायरस के कारण टाल दिया गया है। नेशनल राइफल एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया ने अब प्रस्तावित किया है कि विश्व कप मई और जून में दो भागों में आयोजित किया जाएगा। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, 23 देशों ने टूर्नामेंट से अपना नाम वापस ले लिया था।
