USISPF दूसरा वार्षिक नेतृत्व शिखर सम्मेलन वाशिंगटन में आयोजित
यूएस इंडिया स्ट्रेटेजिक एंड पार्टनरशिप फोरम द्वितीय वार्षिक नेतृत्व शिखर सम्मेलन वाशिंगटन में आयोजित किया गया। “यूएस इंडिया द्विपक्षीय व्यापार रिपोर्ट” इस अवसर पर जारी की गई। रिपोर्ट के कुछ निष्कर्ष हैं:
- यूएस इंडिया द्विपक्षीय व्यापार 2025 तक 238 बिलियन अमरीकी डालर तक पहुंच सकता है।
- रक्षा व्यापार, वाणिज्यिक विमान, तेल और एलएनजी, कोयला, मशीनरी और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स जैसे क्षेत्र संभावित विकास के क्षेत्र हैं।
- अमेरिका-भारत व्यापार संतुलन भारत के पक्ष में औसतन 3.8 प्रतिशत बढ़ा है।
19 वें राष्ट्रमंडल विदेश मंत्री मंत्रियों की लंदन में बैठक
19 वें राष्ट्रमंडल विदेश मामलों के मंत्रियों की बैठक लंदन में आयोजित की गई। विदेश मंत्री ने बैठक में भारत के रुख से अवगत कराया।
विकास स्वरूप को प्रवासी भारतीय मामलों के सचिव के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने 01.08.2019 के प्रभाव से विदेश मंत्रालय में सचिव (वाणिज्य, पासपोर्ट, वीजा और प्रवासी भारतीय मामलों) के रूप में ओटावा में उच्चायुक्त श्री विकास स्वरूप की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है।
फिल्म डिवीजन ने मुंबई में डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म क्लब शुरू किया
फिल्म डिवीजन मुंबई में डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म क्लब “केएसएचआईटीजे” लॉन्च करेंगे। क्लब का शुभारंभ फिल्म्स डिवीजन, सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार, भारतीय वृत्तचित्र निर्माता संघ (IDPA) के सहयोग से होगा।
अजय और विजय बेदी द्वारा प्रशंसित वृत्तचित्र फिल्म “सीक्रेट लाइफ ऑफ फ्रॉग्स” का उद्घाटन फिल्म के रूप में किया जाएगा। इसके साथ, फिल्म-प्रेमियों को अब सार्वजनिक स्क्रीनिंग पर प्रशंसित वृत्तचित्र फिल्मों को देखने का अवसर मिलेगा, साथ ही साथ फिल्मों के निर्देशक/ क्यूरेटर के साथ बातचीत भी होगी।
भारत ने पूर्व-निर्मित घरों को म्यांमार को सौंपा
भारत ने बांग्लादेश से विस्थापित लौटे लोगों के उपयोग के लिए मूँग दा में म्यांमार में 250 पूर्व-निर्मित मकान सौंपे। भारत सरकार ने पांच साल की अवधि के लिए अपने Rakhine राज्य विकास कार्यक्रम के तहत $ 25M के लिए परियोजना को लिया था।
कॉमनवेल्थ वेटलिफ्टिंग चैंपियनशिप में भारत के लिए 4 स्वर्ण पदक
भारत ने सामिया के एपिया में आयोजित राष्ट्रमंडल भारोत्तोलन चैंपियनशिप में 4 स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं। भारतीय पदक विजेता हैं:
- पुरुष (एलीट और जूनियर): अचिनता शूली ने 73 किग्रा इवेंट में 2 स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं।
- जूनियर: गुलाम नवी ने 67 किलोग्राम इवेंट में स्वर्ण पदक जीता है।
- जूनियर और युवा: एल। सदानंद सिंह ने 73 किग्रा इवेंट में कांस्य और स्वर्ण पदक जीते हैं।
- महिला (कुलीन): मनप्रीत कौर ने 76 किग्रा में रजत पदक जीता।
- जूनियर: आर. अरोकिआ अलिश ने 76 किलोग्राम इवेंट में रजत पदक जीता है।
उत्तर कोरिया संविधान में संशोधन किया
उत्तर कोरिया ने किम जोंग उन को राज्य का आधिकारिक प्रमुख बनाने के लिए अपने संविधान में संशोधन किया है, एक पदोन्नति जो दुनिया के बाकी हिस्सों के साथ पृथक देश के राजनयिक संबंधों को सामान्य बनाने में मदद कर सकती है। इससे पहले किम ने राज्य मामलों के आयोग के अध्यक्ष के रूप में शासन किया। पिछले संविधान में कहा गया था कि SAC का अध्यक्ष सर्वोच्च नेता के रूप में कार्य करेगा।
राजघाट कोयला संयंत्र को सौर पार्क में बदला जायेगा
दिल्ली सरकार ने घोषणा की है कि राजघाट थर्मल पावर प्लांट आधिकारिक तौर पर बंद हो जाएगा और सौर पार्क में बदला जाएगा। 45 एकड़ संयंत्र स्थल पर 5,000 किलोवाट सौर ऊर्जा का उत्पादन किया जाएगा।
कोयला आधारित संयंत्र, जिसकी वर्तमान इकाइयों को 1989 में चालू किया गया था, 2014 से बंद मोड में पड़ा हुआ है।
लंदन में मीडिया फ्रीडम के लिए पहला वैश्विक सम्मेलन
मीडिया फ्रीडम के लिए पहला वैश्विक सम्मेलन यूके और कनाडा द्वारा लंदन में सह-होस्ट किया गया।
प्रसार भारती के अध्यक्ष ए. सूर्य प्रकाश, राज्यसभा सांसद और पत्रकार स्वपन दासगुप्ता, और पत्रकार और राजनीतिक विश्लेषक कंचन गुप्ता सहित तीन सदस्यीय भारतीय मीडिया प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने मीडिया फ्रीडम के पहले वैश्विक सम्मेलन में भाग लिया है।
बीसीसी ने व्यापार को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ब्रिक्स चैम्बर के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर करता किए
भारत चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स (बीसीसी) और ब्रिक्स चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री, नई दिल्ली ने ब्रिक्स देशों और भारत के पूर्वी भाग के बीच व्यापार और निवेश को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
केरल महिला स्टार्टअप शिखर सम्मेलन 2019 की मेजबानी करेगा
कोच्चि अगस्त 2019 में भारत के सबसे बड़े महिला स्टार्टअप शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेगा। यह बैठक सभी महिला पेशेवरों, इच्छुक उद्यमियों, कॉर्पोरेट नेताओं और स्टार्टअप संस्थापकों के लिए खुली होगी।
‘महिला स्टार्टअप शिखर सम्मेलन 2019’ का उद्देश्य महिलाओं के पेशेवरों को अपनी उद्यमशीलता की यात्रा करने और राज्य में एक समावेशी उद्यमशीलता पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र विकसित करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है।

USISPF second annual leadership summit held in Washington
The US India Strategic and Partnership Forum 2nd annual leadership summit held in Washington. “US India Bilateral Trade Report” was released on the occasion. Some findings of the report are:
- US India bilateral trade could reach USD 238 billion by 2025.
- Sectors such as defence trade, commercial aircrafts, oil and LNG, coal, machinery and electronics are areas of potential growth.
- The US-India trade balance has grown8 per cent on an average in favour of India.
19th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting in London
The 19th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting was held in London. External Affairs Minister conveyed India’s stand at the meet.
Vikas Swarup appointed as Secretary of Overseas Indian Affairs
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Vikas Swarup, High Commissioner in Ottawa as Secretary (Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian affairs) in the Ministry of External Affairs with effect from 01.08.2019.
Film Divisions to launch documentary film club in Mumbai
Film Divisions will launch documentary film club “KSHITIJ” in Mumbai. The club will be launched by Films Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in association with Indian Documentary Producer’s Association (IDPA).
The acclaimed documentary film “Secret Life of Frogs” by Ajay & Vijay Bedi will be screened as the inaugural film. With this, the film-lovers will now have an opportunity to watch acclaimed documentary films at public screenings, as well as interact with the director/curator of the films.
India hands over pre-fabricated houses to Myanmar
India handed over 250 pre-fabricated houses to Myanmar in Maung Daw for use of displaced returnees from Bangladesh. The Indian government had taken up the project under its Rakhine State Development Programme for $ 25 M for a period of five years.
4 gold medals for India in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships
India have won 4 gold medals in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held in Apia, Samoa. The Indian medallists are:
- Men (Elite and junior): Achinta Sheuli has won 2 gold medals in 73kg event.
- Junior: Gulam Navi has won gold medal in 67kg event.
- Junior and youth: Sadananda Singh has won Bronze & Gold medals in 73kg event.
- Women (Elite): Manpreet Kaur has won silver medal in 76kg event.
- Junior: Arockiya Alish has won silver medal in 76kg event.
North Korea revises constitution
North Korea has revised its constitution to make Kim Jong Un as official head of state, a promotion that could help normalise the isolated country’s diplomatic relations with the rest of the world. Earlier Kim ruled as a chairman of state Affairs Commission. The previous constitution stated that the chairman of SAC served as a Supreme Leader.
Rajghat coal plant to be turned into solar park
The Delhi government has announced that the Rajghat thermal power plant will be officially shut and turned into a solar park. A 5,000 KW of solar power will be produced at the 45 acre plant site.
The coal-based plant, whose current units were commissioned in 1989, has been lying in a shutdown mode from 2014.
First Global Conference for Media Freedom in London
The first Global Conference for Media Freedom co-hosted by the UK and Canada in London.
A three members Indian media delegation, including Prasar Bharati Chairman A. Surya Prakash, Rajya Sabha MP and journalist Swapan Dasgupta, and journalist and political analyst Kanchan Gupta, have attended the first Global Conference for Media Freedom.
BCC signs MoU with BRICS chamber to promote trade
The Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC) and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi, signed an MoU for promoting trade and investments between the BRICS countries and the eastern part of India.

Kochi will host India’s largest women startup summit in August 2019. The meet will be open for all women professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and startup founders.
