भारत की अंशुला कांत विश्व बैंक की एमडी और सीएफओ नियुक्त
विश्व बैंक समूह ने घोषणा की कि अंशुला कांत, एक भारतीय, को प्रबंध निदेशक (एमडी) और मुख्य वित्तीय अधिकारी (सीएफओ) नियुक्त किया गया है। सुश्री कांत बैंक की पहली महिला सीएफओ होंगी।
कल्याणी राफेल को सेना के लिए बराक -8 मिसाइल किट के लिए $ 100 मिलियन का ऑर्डर मिला
कल्याणी राफेल एडवांस्ड सिस्टम्स (KRAS) ने भारतीय सेना और वायु सेना को 1,000 बराक -8 MRSAM मिसाइल किट की आपूर्ति के लिए इजरायल के राफेल एडवांस्ड डिफेंस सिस्टम से $ 100 मिलियन का ऑर्डर दिया है। केआरएएस बाबा कल्याणी के नेतृत्व वाले भारत फोर्ज और राफेल के बीच एक संयुक्त उद्यम है। इस मिसाइल किट को आगे के एकीकरण के लिए भारत-डायनेमिक्स को संचालित किया जाएगा।
रूस–भारत अंतरिक्ष सहयोग पर सहमत हुए
भारत और रूस के बीच अंतरिक्ष के क्षेत्र में अगले स्तर तक द्विपक्षीय सहयोग, जिसमें भारत की पहली मानव अंतरिक्ष उड़ान मिशन ‘गगनयान’ में सहायता शामिल है। राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल और रूस की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी (ROSCOSMOS) के महानिदेशक दिमित्री रोगोजिन ने बैठक में दोनों पक्षों का नेतृत्व किया। नई अंतरिक्ष प्रणाली, रॉकेट इंजन, प्रणोदक और प्रणोदन प्रणाली, अंतरिक्ष यान और प्रक्षेपण यान प्रौद्योगिकी सहित भविष्य तकनीकों में सहयोग किया जायेगा।
‘रोबोट अंपायर’ का अटलांटिक लीग ऑल–स्टार गेम में पदार्पण
एक “रोबोट” अंपायर ने अटलांटिक लीग ऑल-स्टार गेम में अपना पदार्पण किया। होम प्लेट के अंपायर ब्रायन डी ब्रावेरे के पास उनकी बैक पॉकेट में एक फोन था जो बॉल-ट्रैकिंग ‘ट्रैकमैन’ सिस्टम और एक हेडफोन से जुड़ा था, जिसके माध्यम से डी ब्रूवेरे ने सिस्टम की कॉल सुनी और तदनुसार संकेत दिया। अगर वह इससे सहमत नहीं है तो अंपायर सिस्टम को ओवरराइड कर सकता है।

India’s Anshula Kant is World Bank MD and CFO
The World Bank Group announced that Anshula Kant, an Indian national, has been appointed Managing Director (MD) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ms. Kant will be the first woman CFO of the Bank.
Kalyani Rafael gets $100 mn order for Barak-8 missile kits for Army
Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems (KRAS) has bagged a $100 million order from Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems for the supply of 1,000 Barak-8 MRSAM missile kits to the Indian Army and Air Force. KRAS is a joint venture between Baba Kalyani-led Bharat Forge and Rafael. The missile kits will be supplied to state-run Bharat Dynamics for further integration.
Russia-India meets on space cooperation
India and Russia bilateral co-operation to the next level in the field of space, including assistance in India’s maiden human space flight mission ‘Gaganyaan’. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of Russia’s space agency (ROSCOSMOS) led the two sides in the meeting. ‘Robot umpires’ make debut at Atlantic League All-Star game
A “robot” umpire made its debut officiating at the Atlantic League All-Star Game. The home plate umpire Brian deBrauwere had a phone in his back pocket that was connected to the ball-tracking ‘TrackMan’ system and a headphone, through which de Brauwere heard the system’s calls and signalled accordingly. The umpire can override the system if he disagrees with it.
