World Chagas Disease Day observed globally on 14 April
World Chagas Disease Day observed globally on 14 April. On 14 April 2020, the world community is to celebrate World Chagas Disease Day for the 1st time. The main aim of marking the day is to increase awareness of Chagas disease and to marked as a day to spread awareness about this “silent and silenced disease”.
The disease got its name from Dr Carlos Ribeiro Justiniano Chagas. He diagnosed the first patient with the disease in Brazil on April 14, 1909. A parasitic protozoan called Trypanosoma cruzi that causes this vector-borne disease is usually transmitted by faeces and urine of triatomine bugs or kissing bugs, which belongs to the family of assassin bugs.
Prasar Bharti launches new channel “DD Retro”
India’s Public service broadcaster Prasar Bharti has rolled out a new channel called DD Retro. The new channel “DD Retro” would be specifically dedicated to old classics of Doordarshan. The channel has been launched by Prasar Bharti in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic to keep viewers engaged.
DD Retro is presently airing the same shows that DD National had started airing again in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. These favourite memorable serials of Doordarshan includes that of mythological epics Ramayana and Mahabharat, historical drama Chanakya and superhero series Shaktimaan. The list also features comedy drama Shriman Shrimati, detective show Byomkesh Bakshi, drama show Hum Hain Na and Shah Rukh Khan’s Circus.
After the return of these memorable classics, Doordarshan has also emerged as the most watched channel in India, surpassing any other genre in the Hindi-speaking markets.
Ahmedabad railway station becomes 1st station to get sanitizing tunnel
Under Western Railway, Ahmedabad railway station at Kalupur, Gujarat becomes the 1st station of Indian Railways (IR) to install a “Walk Through Mass Sanitizing Tunnel”. This Walk Through Mass Sanitizing Tunnel is installed to ensure the safety of staff and passengers in the view of the COVID-19.
The tunnel uses WHO (World Health Organization) approved sanitizer and fitted with a sensor, so that when a passenger approaches the tunnel entrance it starts fogging automatically. The sanitization system runs on the principle of Vaporization process which converts the sanitizer mixture into vapour which forms a uniform layer over the surface & dries up quickly.
Centre plans to set up ‘Suraksha Stores’ to meet daily needss
The government of India plans to set up a chain of 20 lakh retail shops called ‘Suraksha Stores’ across India. These ‘Suraksha Stores’ will provide daily essentials to citizens while maintaining stringent safety norms in the wake of COVID-19.
The plan is to get the mohalla’s Kirana stores to be converted into ‘Suraksha Stores’. It will supply daily items. Every kind of precaution related to cleanliness and community distance will be taken at these shops. These shops will also be disinfected. These stores will not only be for groceries but also apparel, consumer durables and salons.
GMR Airports to develop & operate airport in Andhra Pradesh
GMR Airports Limited will develop & operate Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh. Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued a “Letter of Award” (LOA) to GMR Airports Limited for the development of greenfield international airport at Bhogapuram.
The project of the greenfield International Airport at Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh involves its design, build, finance, construction, development, up-gradation, modernization, operation and maintenance for 40 years, which will be extendable by additional 20 years.
On a public-private partnership basis, GMR Airports Limited emerged as the highest bidder for project in February 2019. GMR Airports Limited is the subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure.
Karnataka Bank reappoint Mahabaleshwara MS as MD and CEO for 3 yrs
Karnataka Bank has received Reserve Bank of India nod for reappointment of Mahabaleshwara M S as MD and CEO for next 3 years. Mahabaleshwara took charge as MD & CEO of Karnataka Bank on April 12, 2017 and has over 29 years of banking experience both at administrative and operational levels. The RBI has also approved for reappointment of P Jayarama Bhat as part-time (nonexecutive) chairman to hold office up to November 13, 2021.
UNIDO & CUTS signs agreement to counter economic impact of COVID-19
United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) to empower consumers to contribute to the global development agenda as well as support their respective governments in times of global crisis due to coronavirus.
The MoU is valid for 5 years and the aim is to create joint technical co-operation initiatives to support ongoing activities in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). As per the MoU, CUTS will support e-commerce as a platform to accelerate Member States’ transition to the digital economy and adapt to the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) is an India based institution and established in 1983, working to realize “consumer sovereignty within the framework of social justice, economic equality and environmental balance within and across borders”.
IMF chief names Raghuram Rajan in her External Advisory Group
Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva has named a group of prominent individuals to serve as her new External Advisory Group which includes former RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan and others to its new External Advisory Group. Raghuram Rajan was the RBI governor for three years and presently working as a professor at the prestigious University of Chicago.

विश्व चागा रोग दिवस 14 अप्रैल को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया गया। 14 अप्रैल 2020 को, विश्व समुदाय पहली बार विश्व चगास रोग दिवस मनाने वाला है। दिन को चिह्नित करने का मुख्य उद्देश्य चगास रोग के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना और इस “मौन और खामोश बीमारी” के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए एक दिन के रूप में चिह्नित करना है।
इस बीमारी को डॉ कार्लोस रिबेरो जस्टिनो चैगास से इसका नाम मिला। उन्होंने कहा कि 14 अप्रैल को ब्राजील में इस बीमारी से पहले रोगी का निदान, 1909 एक परजीवी प्रोटोजोआ ट्रिपैनोसोमा cruzi कहा जाता है कि कारण बनता है इस सदिश जनित रोग आमतौर पर मल और triatomine कीड़ों का मूत्र या चुंबन कीड़े से फैलता है, जो हत्यारे के परिवार से है कीड़े।
प्रसार भारती ने नया चैनल “डीडी रेट्रो” लॉन्च किया
भारत के लोक सेवा प्रसारक प्रसार भारती ने डीडी रेट्रो नामक एक नया चैनल शुरू किया है। नया चैनल “डीडी रेट्रो” दूरदर्शन के पुराने क्लासिक्स के लिए विशेष रूप से समर्पित होगा। चैनल को प्रसार भारती द्वारा दर्शकों को जोड़े रखने के लिए COVID -19 महामारी के मद्देनजर लॉन्च किया गया है।
डीडी रेट्रो वर्तमान में वही शो प्रसारित कर रहा है जो डीडी नेशनल ने COVID-19 के प्रकोप के मद्देनजर फिर से प्रसारित करना शुरू कर दिया था। दूरदर्शन के इन पसंदीदा यादगार धारावाहिकों में पौराणिक महाकाव्य रामायण और महाभारत, ऐतिहासिक नाटक चाणक्य और सुपरहीरो श्रृंखला शक्तिमान शामिल हैं। इस सूची में कॉमेडी ड्रामा श्रीमन श्रीमती, जासूसी शो ब्योमकेश बख्शी, ड्रामा शो हम हैं ना और शाहरुख खान की सर्कस भी शामिल हैं।

अहमदाबाद रेलवे स्टेशन सैनिटाइज़िंग टनल पाने वाला पहला स्टेशन बन गया
पश्चिमी रेलवे, अहमदाबाद रेलवे स्टेशन के तहत, कलूपुर, गुजरात में “वॉक थ्रू मास सैनिटाइजिंग टनल” स्थापित करने वाला भारतीय रेलवे (IR) का पहला स्टेशन बन गया है। यह वॉक थ्रू मास सैनिटाइज़िंग टनल कर्मचारियों और यात्रियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए स्थापित किया गया है।
टनल डब्ल्यूएचओ (विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन) द्वारा स्वीकृत सैनिटाइज़र का उपयोग करती है और एक सेंसर के साथ फिट होती है, ताकि जब कोई यात्री सुरंग के प्रवेश द्वार के पास जाए तो यह अपने आप फॉगिंग शुरू कर दे। सैनिटाइजेशन सिस्टम वाष्पीकरण प्रक्रिया के सिद्धांत पर चलता है जो सैनिटाइजर मिश्रण को वाष्प में परिवर्तित करता है जो सतह पर एक समान परत बनाता है और जल्दी से सूख जाता है।
केंद्र की दैनिक जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए ‘सुरक्षा स्टोर’ स्थापित करने की योजना
भारत सरकार की योजना भारत भर में ‘सुरक्षा स्टोर्स’ नामक 20 लाख खुदरा दुकानों की एक श्रृंखला स्थापित करने की है। ये ‘सुरक्षा स्टोर’ COVID-19 के मद्देनजर कड़े सुरक्षा मानदंडों को बनाए रखते हुए नागरिकों को दैनिक आवश्यकताएं प्रदान करेंगे।
योजना है कि मोहल्ले के किराना स्टोरों को ‘सुरक्षा स्टोर’ में बदल दिया जाए। यह दैनिक वस्तुओं की आपूर्ति करेगा। इन दुकानों पर स्वच्छता और सामुदायिक दूरी से संबंधित हर तरह की सावधानी बरती जाएगी। इन दुकानों को भी कीटाणुरहित किया जाएगा। ये स्टोर न केवल किराने के सामान, बल्कि परिधान, उपभोक्ता टिकाऊ वस्तुएं और सैलून के लिए भी होंगे।
जीएमआर हवाई अड्डे आंध्र प्रदेश में हवाई अड्डे के विकास और संचालन के लिए
जीएमआर एयरपोर्ट्स लिमिटेड आंध्र प्रदेश में भोगापुरम अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे का विकास और संचालन करेगा। आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने भोगापुरम में ग्रीनफील्ड अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे के विकास के लिए जीएमआर एयरपोर्ट्स लिमिटेड को “लेटर ऑफ अवार्ड” (एलओए) जारी किया है।
आंध्र प्रदेश के भोगापुरम में ग्रीनफील्ड इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट की परियोजना में 40 वर्षों के लिए इसका डिज़ाइन, निर्माण, वित्त, निर्माण, विकास, अपग्रेडेशन, आधुनिकीकरण, संचालन और रखरखाव शामिल है, जो अतिरिक्त 20 वर्षों तक विस्तारित होगा।
सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी के आधार पर, जीएमआर एयरपोर्ट्स लिमिटेड फरवरी 2019 में परियोजना के लिए सबसे अधिक बोली लगाने वाली कंपनी के रूप में उभरी। जीएमआर इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर लिमिटेड जीएमआर इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर की सहायक कंपनी है।
कर्नाटक बैंक ने महाबलेश्वर एमएस को 3 साल के लिए एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त किया
कर्नाटक बैंक को अगले 3 वर्षों के लिए महाबलेश्वर एम एस के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में पुन: नियुक्ति के लिए भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने मंजूरी दे दी है। महाबलेश्वर ने 12 अप्रैल, 2017 को कर्नाटक बैंक के एमडी और सीईओ के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला और प्रशासनिक और परिचालन दोनों स्तरों पर 29 वर्षों के बैंकिंग अनुभव का अनुभव किया। आरबीआई ने 13 नवंबर, 2021 तक कार्यालय में रहने के लिए अंशकालिक (कोई भी) अध्यक्ष के रूप में पी जयराम भट की फिर से नियुक्ति के लिए मंजूरी दे दी है।

एमओयू 5 साल के लिए वैध है और इसका उद्देश्य 2030 सतत विकास लक्ष्य (एसडीजी) को प्राप्त करने के लिए चल रही गतिविधियों का समर्थन करने के लिए संयुक्त तकनीकी सहयोग पहल बनाना है। एमओयू के अनुसार, सीयूटीएस ई-कॉमर्स को डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था में सदस्य राज्यों के संक्रमण को तेज करने और 4 वीं औद्योगिक क्रांति के अनुकूल बनाने के लिए एक मंच के रूप में समर्थन करेगा।
