PM Modi to inaugurate UN Convention on Migratory Species
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 13th Conference of Parties (COP) of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The theme of the Conference is “Migratory species connect the planet and we welcome them home.”
The CMS COP 13 logo is inspired by ‘Kolam’, a traditional art form from southern India. In the logo, Kolam art form is used to depict key migratory species in India like Amur falcon, humpback whale and marine turtles. As the host, India will be designated the President for the next three years. India is a signatory to the Convention on Conservation of Migratory wild Animals since 1983.
BioAsia Summit 2020 begins in Hyderabad
The Government of Telangana hosting BioAsia Summit 2020 in Hyderabad between February 17, 2020, and February 19, 2020. The main objective of the summit is to explore the capabilities of Life Science Companies and their investments. The theme of the Summit is Theme: Today for Tomorrow.
Donald Trump to inaugurate world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad
The World’s Biggest Cricket Stadium, the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad renamed as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium will be inaugurated by US President Donald Trump during his visit to India. The stadium has a capacity of 1.10 lakh people. Sardar Vallabhbhai Stadium emerged as the World’s Biggest Cricket Stadium after the previous 53000-seater Motera Stadium was demolished back in 2015.
Indian-origin minister Alok Sharma to lead UN climate summit
Indian-origin Alok Sharma was named the new UK Minister in charge of the crunch UN climate talks to be hosted by Britain. He has been promoted to the post of Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Cabinet reshuffle.
IFAD Governing Council 2020 held in Rome, Italy
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) 43rd Governing Council meeting was held in Rome, Italy. The 43rd sessions will focus on the overarching theme “Investing in sustainable food systems to end hunger by 2030”. The theme highlights how IFAD’s role and experience in supporting sustainable, inclusive, nutritious and efficient food systems uniquely place it in a position to contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
SEBI constitutes Municipal bonds development committee
Markets regulator SEBI has constituted a Municipal Bonds Development Committee headed by Sujit Prasad. This committee will suggest on policy matters pertaining to the development of municipal debt securities and facilitate municipalities for issuance of such bonds.
5-day working week for Maharashtra govt employees
The Maharashtra government has announced 5-day working week for state government employees. The decision was taken at the state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The new system will be applicable from February 29 onwards.

पीएम मोदी ने प्रवासी प्रजाति पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी गुजरात के गांधीनगर में जंगली जानवरों के प्रवासी प्रजाति (सीएमएस) के संरक्षण पर सम्मेलन के 13 वें सम्मेलन (सीओपी) का उद्घाटन करेंगे। सम्मेलन का विषय है “प्रवासी प्रजातियां ग्रह को जोड़ती हैं और हम उनका घर में स्वागत करते हैं।”
सीएमएस सीओपी 13 का लोगो दक्षिणी भारत के पारंपरिक कला रूप ‘कोलम’ से प्रेरित है। लोगो में, कोलम आर्ट फॉर्म का उपयोग भारत में प्रमुख प्रवासी प्रजातियों जैसे अमूर बाज़, हम्पबैक व्हेल और समुद्री कछुओं को चित्रित करने के लिए किया जाता है। मेजबान के रूप में, भारत को अगले तीन वर्षों के लिए राष्ट्रपति नामित किया जाएगा। भारत 1983 से प्रवासी जंगली जानवरों के संरक्षण पर कन्वेंशन का एक हस्ताक्षरकर्ता है।
बायोएशिया समिट 2020 हैदराबाद में शुरू हुआ

डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प अहमदाबाद में दुनिया के सबसे बड़े क्रिकेट स्टेडियम का उद्घाटन करेंगे
विश्व के सबसे बड़े क्रिकेट स्टेडियम, अहमदाबाद के मोटेरा स्टेडियम का नाम बदलकर सरदार वल्लभभाई स्टेडियम रखा गया है, जिसका उद्घाटन अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प अपनी भारत यात्रा के दौरान करेंगे। स्टेडियम की क्षमता 1.10 लाख लोगों की है। 2015 में पिछले 53000 सीटर मोटेरा स्टेडियम को ध्वस्त करने के बाद सरदार वल्लभभाई स्टेडियम विश्व के सबसे बड़े क्रिकेट स्टेडियम के रूप में उभरा।

भारतीय मूल के आलोक शर्मा को ब्रिटेन द्वारा आयोजित की जाने वाली संयुक्त राष्ट्र जलवायु वार्ता के प्रभारी के रूप में नए यूके मंत्री का नाम दिया गया था। उन्हें ब्रिटेन के प्रधान मंत्री बोरिस जॉनसन के मंत्रिमंडल में फेरबदल के लिए व्यापार, ऊर्जा और औद्योगिक रणनीति के राज्य मंत्री के पद पर पदोन्नत किया गया है।
आईएफएडी गवर्निंग काउंसिल 2020 का आयोजन रोम, इटली में हुआ
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकास के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कोष (IFAD) की 43 वीं गवर्निंग काउंसिल की बैठक रोम, इटली में आयोजित की गई। 43 वें सत्र में “2030 तक भूख को समाप्त करने के लिए स्थायी खाद्य प्रणालियों में निवेश” विषय पर जोर दिया जाएगा। यह विषय इस बात पर प्रकाश डालता है कि सतत, समावेशी, पौष्टिक और कुशल खाद्य प्रणालियों के समर्थन में आईएफएडी की भूमिका और अनुभव कैसे विशिष्ट विकास लक्ष्यों (एसडीजी) में योगदान देने की स्थिति में इसे विशिष्ट रूप से स्थान देते हैं।
सेबी ने नगरपालिका बांड विकास समिति का गठन किया
बाजार नियामक सेबी ने सुजीत प्रसाद की अध्यक्षता में एक नगरपालिका बांड विकास समिति का गठन किया है। यह समिति नगरपालिका ऋण प्रतिभूतियों के विकास से संबंधित नीतिगत मामलों पर सुझाव देगी और ऐसे बांड जारी करने के लिए नगरपालिकाओं को सुविधा प्रदान करेगी।
महाराष्ट्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों के लिए 5-दिवसीय कार्य सप्ताह
महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों के लिए 5-दिवसीय कार्य सप्ताह की घोषणा की है। मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे की अध्यक्षता में राज्य मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक में यह निर्णय लिया गया। नई व्यवस्था 29 फरवरी से लागू होगी।
