लखनऊ का हजरतगंज चौराहा का नाम बदलकर ‘अटल चौक’ कर दिया गया
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने पूर्व पीएम अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की पहली पुण्यतिथि के मौके पर लखनऊ के हजरतगंज चौराहा का नाम बदलकर ‘अटल चौक’ कर दिया। लखनऊ की मेयर संयुक्ता भाटिया ने कहा कि वाजपेयी के लिए एक स्मारक बनाने के लिए एक मसौदा तैयार किया गया है, जिसे ‘अटल स्मृति उपवन’ कहा जाएगा, जिसमें वाजपेयी, उनकी 51 कविताओं, भाषणों और अन्य संस्मरणों की प्रतिमा होगी।
जम्मू क्षेत्र में फिर से मोबाइल इंटरनेट सेवाएं बंद
अफवाह-तोडफ़ोड़ की जांच के लिए रविवार को जम्मू क्षेत्र के पांच जिलों में कम गति (2 जी) मोबाइल इंटरनेट सेवाएं फिर से बंद कर दी गईं। शुक्रवार और शनिवार की मध्यरात्रि के दौरान जम्मू, सांबा, कठुआ, उधमपुर और रियासी के पांच जिलों में सेवाएं बहाल कर दी गईं। केंद्र द्वारा अनुच्छेद 370 को रद्द करने से एक दिन पहले 4 अगस्त को जम्मू क्षेत्र में इंटरनेट सेवाओं को पहले ही बंद कर दिया गया था।
पीएम मोदी ने भूटान में रूपे कार्ड लॉन्च किया
भारत के प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भूटान की अपनी दूसरी यात्रा पर (पहली बार अपने चुनाव के बाद), भूटान के साथ संबंध मजबूत करने के लिए व्यापक कदमों पर चर्चा की और दोनों देशों के बीच नई ऊर्जा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 10 समझौता ज्ञापनों पर हस्ताक्षर किए। भूटान पहला देश था जिसे पीएम मोदी ने 2014 में प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में दौरा किया था।
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भूटान में सिम्टोक दज़ोंग में खरीदकर भारत का RuPay कार्ड लॉन्च किया, जो एक मठवासी और प्रशासनिक केंद्र के रूप में कार्य करता है। RuPay कार्ड का शुभारंभ दो चरणों में किया जाएगा- पहले चरण में, भारत के बैंक रुपे कार्ड जारी करेंगे जिनका उपयोग भूटान में भारतीय यात्री कर सकते हैं; भूटान के दूसरे चरण के बैंकों को भारत में उपयोग करने के लिए भूटानी नागरिकों को रुपे कार्ड जारी करने का अधिकार दिया जाएगा
सिंगापुर के बाद भूटान दूसरा देश है जहां RuPay कार्ड लॉन्च किया गया था। मई 2018 में, पीएम मोदी ने भारत के तीन भुगतान ऐप RuPay, BHIM और SBI ऐप लॉन्च किए थे।
सीएआईटी ने चीनी सामान के बहिष्कार का आह्वान किया, 500% आयात शुल्क की मांग की
ट्रेडर्स बॉडी CAIT ने चीनी उत्पादों के बहिष्कार का आह्वान किया है और इन सामानों पर 500% तक उच्च सीमा शुल्क लगाने की मांग की है। यह तब हुआहै जब चीन ने UNSC में जम्मू-कश्मीर में अनुच्छेद 370 के उल्लंघन पर पाकिस्तान के मामले का समर्थन किया। इसमें कहा गया कि चीन ने खुद को देश की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के लिए संभावित दुश्मनों की सूची में रखा है।

Lucknow’s Hazratganj Chauraha renamed to ‘Atal Chowk’
The Uttar Pradesh government renamed Lucknow’s Hazratganj Chauraha to ‘Atal Chowk’ on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s first death anniversary. Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that a draft has been prepared to build a memorial for Vajpayee called ‘Atal Smriti Upvan’, which will have a statue of Vajpayee, his 51 poems, speeches and other memorabilia.
Mobile internet services snapped in Jammu region again
Low-speed (2G) mobile internet services were snapped again in five districts of Jammu region on Sunday to check rumour-mongering. The services had been restored in five districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Internet services were first snapped across Jammu region on August 4, a day before Centre revoked Article 370.
PM Modi launches Rupay card in Bhutan
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on his second visit to Bhutan (first since his re-election), discussed wide-ranging steps to strengthen the relationship with Bhutan and signed 10 MoUs to infuse new energy between both countries. Bhutan was the first country that PM Modi visited as Prime Minister in 2014.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched India’s RuPay card in Bhutan by purchasing at Simtokha Dzong, that functions as a monastic and administrative centre. The launch of RuPay card will be done in two phases- in the first phase, India’s banks will issue Rupay cards that can be used by Indian travellers in Bhutan; in second phase-banks of Bhutan will be empowered to issue Rupay cards to Bhutanese citizens to use in India
Bhutan is the second country after Singapore where RuPay card was launched. In May 2018, PM Modi had launched three India’s payment apps RuPay, BHIM and SBI apps.
CAIT calls for boycott of Chinese goods, seeks up to 500% import duty
Traders’ body CAIT has called for the boycott of Chinese products and sought high customs duties of up to 500% on these goods. This comes after China supported Pakistan’s case on abrogation of Article 370 in J&K at the UNSC. It said that China has placed itself on the list of probable enemies for the national security of the country.
