International Museum Day celebrated on 18 May
International Museum Day is celebrated every year on 18 May to raise awareness about the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.” The International Museum Day 2020 was celebrated with the theme “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”.
International Museum Day was celebrated for the first time 40 years ago. The day is being celebrated all around the world and also features the participation of more and more museums from the worldwide.
NDMA develops dashboard “National Migrant Information System”
An online dashboard “National Migrant Information System (NMIS)” has been developed by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The dashboard has been developed by NDMA to secure information regarding the movement of migrants and to facilitate the smooth movement of stranded persons across States.
A central repository of migrant workers would be maintained by the dashboard NMIS. It will also support in speedy inter-State communication/co-ordination to facilitate the smooth movement of migrant workers to their native places. It also comprises of additional advantages such as contact tracing, which may be beneficial in the overall COVID-19 response work. With the help of the data integrated in the dashboard, the states will be able to visualize how many people are going out from where and how many are reaching their destination States.
HDFC’s Zubair Iqbal becomes new MD of J&K Bank
Senior vice president of HDFC Bank, Zubair Iqbal has appointed as new managing director of Jammu and Kashmir Bank by Jammu and Kashmir Government. Iqbal will have a three-year tenure.
R.K. Chibber, who currently holds the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of J&K Bank, will continue to serve as the Chairman of the bank for the next three years. The appointments are based upon the continuous directions by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to separate the positions of Chairman and Managing Director for better governance.
World Hypertension Day observed globally on 17th May
World Hypertension Day is observed globally on 17th May every year. The main aim of celebrates the day is to promote public awareness of increasing high blood pressure (BP) and to encourage citizens of all countries to prevent and control this silent killer. The day was celebrated for the 1st time in May 2005. World Hypertension Day (WHD) is an initiative of the World Hypertension League (WHL), an affiliated section of the International Society of Hypertension.
The theme for World Hypertension Day 2020: Measure Your Blood Pressure, Control It, Live Longer. The theme focuses on increasing high blood pressure (BP) awareness in all populations around the world.
The WHL has announced that it will postpone the celebration of World Hypertension Day (WHD) 2020 until October 17, 2020, due to global COVID-19 pandemic.

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is observed globally on 17th May every year. The main aim to celebrates the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies.

World Telecommunication Day (WTD) has been celebrated annually on 17 May since 1969. The date marks the anniversary of the founding of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on 17 May 1865, when the first International Telegraph Convention was signed in Paris. In 1973, the event was formally instituted at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in Malaga-Torremolinos, Spain.
Lockdown 4.0: Lockdown extended until 31 May
The Ministry of Home Affairs has released an official notice announcing the extension of the lockdown due to COVID-19 for a further period of 14 days i.e. lockdown has been extended till 31 May 2020. The ministry has also released a new set of guidelines for the nation-wide curfew.
In the set of guidelines given by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is stated that states will decide the Containment, Buffer, Red, Green and Orange zones for lockdown till 31 May and interstate travel, all domestic and international travel, metro rail operation is still prohibited. School and colleges will not open till 31 May and neither will hotels, malls, gyms and restaurants. Social, political and religious gatherings are also prohibited.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय दिवस 18 मई को मनाया गया
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय दिवस हर साल 18 मई को इस तथ्य के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है कि, “संग्रहालय सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान, संस्कृतियों के संवर्धन और लोगों के बीच आपसी समझ, सहयोग और शांति के विकास का एक महत्वपूर्ण साधन हैं।” अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय दिवस 2020 “समता के लिए संग्रहालय: विविधता और समावेश” विषय के साथ मनाया गया।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय दिवस 40 साल पहले पहली बार मनाया गया था। यह दिन दुनिया भर में मनाया जा रहा है और दुनिया भर से अधिक से अधिक संग्रहालयों की भागीदारी भी है।
NDMA ने “राष्ट्रीय प्रवासी सूचना प्रणाली” डैशबोर्ड विकसित किया
राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (एनडीएमए) द्वारा एक ऑनलाइन डैशबोर्ड “राष्ट्रीय प्रवासी सूचना प्रणाली (एनएमआईएस)” विकसित किया गया है। एनडीएमए द्वारा डैशबोर्ड विकसित किया गया है ताकि प्रवासियों के आवागमन के बारे में जानकारी सुरक्षित हो सके और राज्यों में फंसे हुए व्यक्तियों के सुचारू आवागमन को सुगम बनाया जा सके।
डैशबोर्ड NMIS द्वारा प्रवासी श्रमिकों का केंद्रीकृत डाटा रखा जाएगा। यह प्रवासी श्रमिकों के सुगम आवागमन को उनके मूल स्थानों तक पहुंचाने के लिए त्वरित अंतर-राज्य संचार / समन्वय में भी सहयोग करेगा। इसमें कॉन्टैक्ट ट्रेसिंग जैसे अतिरिक्त फायदे भी शामिल हैं, जो समग्र COVID-19 प्रतिक्रिया कार्य में लाभदायक हो सकते हैं। डैशबोर्ड में एकीकृत डेटा की मदद से, राज्य यह कल्पना कर पाएंगे कि कितने लोग अपने गंतव्य राज्यों में कहां और कितने से पहुंच रहे हैं।
एचडीएफसी के जुबैर इकबाल जेएंडके बैंक के नए एमडी बने
एचडीएफसी बैंक के वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष जुबैर इकबाल को जम्मू और कश्मीर सरकार ने जम्मू और कश्मीर बैंक का नया प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त किया है। इकबाल का तीन साल का कार्यकाल होगा।
आर.के. चिब्बर, जो वर्तमान में जम्मू-कश्मीर बैंक के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक (सीएमडी) का पद संभालते हैं, अगले तीन वर्षों तक बैंक के अध्यक्ष के रूप में काम करते रहेंगे। भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) द्वारा निरंतर शासन के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक के पदों को अलग-अलग करने के लिए निरंतर निर्देशों के आधार पर नियुक्तियां की जाती हैं।

विश्व उच्च रक्तचाप दिवस हर साल 17 मई को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। इस दिवस को मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य बढ़ते हुए उच्च रक्तचाप (बीपी) के बारे में जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देना और सभी देशों के नागरिकों को इस मूक हत्यारे को रोकने और नियंत्रित करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है। मई 2005 में यह दिवस पहली बार मनाया गया था। विश्व उच्च रक्तचाप दिवस (WHD) विश्व उच्च रक्तचाप लीग (WHL) की एक पहल है, जो इंटरनेशनल सोसाइटी ऑफ हाइपरटेंशन का एक संबद्ध अनुभाग है।

विश्व दूरसंचार और सूचना सोसायटी दिवस हर साल 17 मई को विश्व स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। विश्व दूरसंचार और सूचना सोसायटी दिवस (डब्ल्यूटीआईएसडी) को मनाने का मुख्य उद्देश्य उन संभावनाओं के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने में मदद करना है जो इंटरनेट और अन्य सूचना और संचार प्रौद्योगिकियों (आईसीटी) का उपयोग समाजों और अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के लिए ला सकते हैं।
2020 के विश्व दूरसंचार और सूचना समाज दिवस का विषय: “2030 कनेक्ट करें: सतत विकास लक्ष्यों (एसडीजी) के लिए आईसीटी”
विश्व दूरसंचार दिवस (WTD) 1969 से 17 मई को प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। यह तारीख 17 मई 1865 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दूरसंचार संघ (ITU) की स्थापना की वर्षगांठ है, जब पेरिस में पहले अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टेलीग्राफ कन्वेंशन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे। 1973 में, स्पेन के मलागा-तोरेमोलिनोस में ITU प्लेनिपोटेंटरी सम्मेलन में औपचारिक रूप से इस आयोजन की शुरुआत की गई थी।
लॉकडाउन 4.0: लॉकडाउन 31 मई तक बढ़ा
गृह मंत्रालय ने एक आधिकारिक नोटिस जारी किया है जिसमें COVID-19 के कारण लॉकडाउन के विस्तार को 14 दिनों की और अवधि के लिए बंद करने की घोषणा की गई है। लॉकडाउन को 31 मई 2020 तक के लिए बढ़ा दिया गया है। मंत्रालय ने इसके लिए दिशानिर्देशों का एक नया सेट भी जारी किया है।
गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा दिए गए दिशानिर्देशों के सेट में, यह कहा गया है कि राज्य 31 मई तक लॉकडाउन के लिए कंटेनर, बफर, रेड, ग्रीन और ऑरेंज जोन तय करेंगे और अंतरराज्यीय यात्रा, सभी घरेलू और अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्रा, मेट्रो रेल संचालन अभी भी निषिद्ध है। स्कूल और कॉलेज 31 मई तक नहीं खुलेंगे और न ही होटल, मॉल, जिम और रेस्तरां होंगे। सामाजिक, राजनीतिक और धार्मिक समारोहों पर भी प्रतिबंध है।
