India Became Second Largest Manufacturer of PPE In The World
India has become the second-largest manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment in the world following China which is currently leading producer of PPE in the world.
At present, India is producing 5.75 lakh PPE kits every day which is the maximum capacity of the country. A PPE kit basically consists of shoe cover, gloves, eye shield, mask, and gown. The data given above was provided by the Ministry of Health.
CBSE handbooks on Cybersecurity for Students launched by HRD
Union HRD Minister Ramesh Nishank has released three handbooks name: ‘Cyber safety – A handbook for students’; ‘In pursuit of Excellence’ and ‘21st Century skills’, by the CBSE based on the measures taken by the board to adopt value-based global standards of education.
These books will help the students to adopt the valuebased global standards of education.
Defence Ministry approves procurement of 26 defence items from local suppliers
The Department of Defence Production(DDP), Ministry of Defence in an attempt to further encourage procurement from local suppliers to boost ‘Make in India’, has given approval to 26 defense items out of 127 already notified clause 3(a) of the Public Procurement ( Preference to Make in India) order 2017.
The government will make individual budgetary provisions for procuring Indian made defense equipment to help reduce the defense import bills & boost the Make In India scheme to make it a success post-Covid-19 situation.
Lok Sabha Passed Mineral Law Amendment Bill
Lok Sabha has passed the Mineral Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 which aims to amend Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 along with Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Act, 2015.
Commercial mining will completely be open up in the coal sector by this bill. Another important feature of this bill is that it intends to remove end-use restrictions to participate in coal mine auction.
The Indian Council of Medical Research Revised Advisory On The Use Of Hydroxychloroquine
The Indian Council of Medical Research has revised its advisory on the use of HCQ (Hydroxychloroquine) On May 23, 2020. As per the new advisory guide the HCQ is only permitted and should only be given on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner.
Three new categories has been included to whom HCQ shall be prescribed as prophylactic treatment which are: Asymptomatic Health care workers, Asymptomatic frontline workers employed in containment zones, Paramilitary and police personnel.
Import duty on Green Energy Equipment Increased by 20%
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has increased the import duty of green energy equipment like cells by 20% in the Budget 2020-21. The aim is to drive local manufacturing of the equipment and lowering the import of low-quality Chinese equipment.
Currently, India is the third-largest consumer of energy after US and China. The manufacturing capacity of India as of now is 3 GW for solar cells.
Uttar Pradesh governement launches ‘UP Start up Fund’
Uttar Pradesh government has set up ‘UP Start-up Fund’ under the UP Information Technology and Start-up Policy 2017. An MoU has been signed between the Uttar Pradesh government and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and the fund will be managed by SIDBI. Initial contribution of Rs 15 crore has been made to the fund. The fund aims to support the registered start-up ventures present across different verticals in Uttar Pradesh.
The ‘UP Start-up Fund’ has been established under the UP Information Technology and Start-up Policy 2017 by the Uttar Pradesh government. It will be in the form of Fund of Funds. This fund will take part in Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved Alternative Investment Funds and would not be invested directly into start-ups. The fund will be operated for a period of 12 years and will be professionally managed, with SIDBI acting as the fund manager.

भारत दुनिया में पीपीई का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक बन गया
भारत चीन के बाद दुनिया में व्यक्तिगत सुरक्षा उपकरणों का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा निर्माता बन गया है जो वर्तमान में दुनिया में पीपीई के अग्रणी निर्माता हैं।
वर्तमान में, भारत हर दिन 5.75 लाख पीपीई किट का उत्पादन कर रहा है जो देश की अधिकतम क्षमता है। एक PPE किट में मूल रूप से शू कवर, दस्ताने, आई शील्ड, मास्क और गाउन शामिल होते हैं। ऊपर दिया गया डेटा स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय द्वारा प्रदान किया गया था।
सीबीएसई एचआरडी द्वारा शुरू किए गए छात्रों के लिए साइबरस्पेस पर हैंडबुक
केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन मंत्री रमेश निशंक ने तीन हैंडबुक नाम जारी किए हैं: ‘साइबर सुरक्षा – छात्रों के लिए एक हैंडबुक’; ‘उत्कृष्टता की खोज’ और ‘21 वीं सदी के कौशल।’ सीबीएसई बोर्ड द्वारा शिक्षा के मूल्य-आधारित वैश्विक मानकों को अपनाने के लिए किए गए उपायों पर आधारित है।
ये पुस्तकें छात्रों को शिक्षा के वैश्विक मानकों को अपनाने में मदद करेंगी।
रक्षा मंत्रालय ने स्थानीय आपूर्तिकर्ताओं से 26 रक्षा वस्तुओं की खरीद को मंजूरी दी
रक्षा उत्पादन विभाग (DDP), रक्षा मंत्रालय ने ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ को बढ़ावा देने के लिए स्थानीय आपूर्तिकर्ताओं से खरीद को प्रोत्साहित करने के प्रयास में, पहले से ही प्रोक्योरमेंट (मेक इन इंडिया) ऑर्डर 2017 अधिसूचित खंड 3 (क) के 26 में से 26 रक्षा मदों को मंजूरी दे दी है।
सरकार रक्षा आयात बिल को कम करने और इसे सफल पोस्ट-कोविड -19 स्थिति बनाने के लिए मेक इन इंडिया योजना को बढ़ावा देने में मदद करने के लिए भारतीय निर्मित रक्षा उपकरण खरीदने के लिए व्यक्तिगत बजटीय प्रावधान करेगी।
लोकसभा ने खनिज कानून संशोधन विधेयक पारित किया
लोकसभा ने खनिज कानून (संशोधन) विधेयक, 2020 पारित किया है जिसका उद्देश्य कोयला खान (विशेष प्रावधान) अधिनियम, 2015 के साथ खान और खनिज (विकास और विनियमन) अधिनियम, 1957 में संशोधन करना है।
इस बिल से कोयला क्षेत्र में वाणिज्यिक खनन पूरी तरह से खुल जाएगा। इस विधेयक की एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता यह है कि यह कोयला खदान की नीलामी में भाग लेने के लिए अंतिम उपयोग प्रतिबंधों को हटाने का इरादा रखता है।
इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च ने हाइड्रोक्सीक्लोरोक्वीन के उपयोग पर संशोधित सलाह दी
इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च ने 23 मई, 2020 को एचसीक्यू (हाइड्रॉक्सीक्लोरोक्वाइन) के उपयोग के बारे में अपनी सलाह को संशोधित किया है। नए सलाहकार गाइड के अनुसार एचसीक्यू को केवल अनुमति है और इसे केवल पंजीकृत मेडिकल प्रैक्टिशनर के पर्चे पर ही दिया जाना चाहिए।
तीन नई श्रेणियों को शामिल किया गया है, जिन्हें एचसीक्यू को रोगनिरोधी उपचार के रूप में निर्धारित किया जाएगा, जो हैं: एसिम्प्टोमैटिक हेल्थ केयर वर्कर्स, कंसेंट ज़ोन, पैरामिलिट्री और पुलिस कर्मियों में कार्यरत एसिम्प्टोमैटिक फ्रंटलाइन वर्कर्स।
ग्रीन एनर्जी उपकरण पर आयात शुल्क 20% बढ़ा
वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने बजट 2020-21 में कोशिकाओं की तरह हरित ऊर्जा उपकरणों के आयात शुल्क में 20% की वृद्धि की है। इसका उद्देश्य उपकरणों के स्थानीय विनिर्माण को चलाना और कम गुणवत्ता वाले चीनी उपकरणों के आयात को कम करना है।
वर्तमान में, भारत अमेरिका और चीन के बाद ऊर्जा का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा उपभोक्ता है। भारत की सौर सेल विनिर्माण क्षमता 3 गीगावॉट है।
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने ‘यूपी स्टार्ट अप फंड’ शुरू किया
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने यूपी सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी और स्टार्ट-अप नीति 2017 के तहत ‘यूपी स्टार्ट-अप फंड’ की स्थापना की है। उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और भारतीय लघु उद्योग विकास बैंक (सिडबी) के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं और फंड SIDBI द्वारा प्रबंधित किया जायेगा। निधि में 15 करोड़ रुपये का प्रारंभिक योगदान दिया गया है। इस फंड का उद्देश्य उत्तर प्रदेश में विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में मौजूद पंजीकृत स्टार्ट-अप उपक्रमों का समर्थन करना है।
‘यूपी स्टार्ट-अप फंड’ की स्थापना उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा यूपी सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी और स्टार्ट-अप नीति 2017 के तहत की गई है। यह फंड ऑफ फंड्स के रूप में होगा। यह फंड सिक्योरिटीज एंड एक्सचेंज बोर्ड ऑफ इंडिया (सेबी) द्वारा स्वीकृत वैकल्पिक निवेश कोष में भाग लेगा और सीधे स्टार्ट-अप में निवेश नहीं किया जाएगा। फंड को 12 साल की अवधि के लिए संचालित किया जाएगा और फंड मैनेजर के रूप में सिडबी अभिनय के साथ पेशेवर रूप से प्रबंधित किया जाएगा।
