अमिताभ कांत को NITI Aayog CEO के रूप में दो साल का विस्तार मिला
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने अमिताभ कांत के कार्यकाल को 30 जून, 2019 से 30 जून, 2021 तक NITI अयोग के सीईओ के रूप में मंजूरी दे दी है।
31.4% भारतीय बच्चे 2022 तक अविकसित होंगे: खाद्य और पोषण सुरक्षा रिपोर्ट
हाल ही में जारी खाद्य और पोषण सुरक्षा रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि 2022 तक 31.4% भारतीय बच्चे कमज़ोर होंगे। इसका मतलब है कि पांच साल से कम उम्र के हर तीन भारतीय बच्चों में से एक का 2022 तक कमज़ोर होगा।
बिहार (48%) और उत्तर प्रदेश (46%) जैसे राज्यों में, लगभग दो बच्चों में से एक का वध किया जाता है, जबकि केरल और गोवा के पाँच बच्चों में यह केवल एक है (20% प्रत्येक)।
यह रिपोर्ट संयुक्त राष्ट्र के विश्व खाद्य कार्यक्रम द्वारा सांख्यिकी और कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय के सहयोग से तैयार की गई है

- द ट्रिब्यून की रचना खैरा को ‘जर्नलिस्ट ऑफ द ईयर’ के लिए प्रतिष्ठित रेडइंक अवार्ड मिला है। उसने यूआईडीएआई और उसके आधार डेटा कैश के कामकाज को उजागर करने के लिए इसे जीता।
- महाराष्ट्र मिरर के दो सेवानिवृत्त वरिष्ठ पत्रकार दीनू रानाडिव और मुंबई मिरर के सेबस्टियन डिसूजा को संयुक्त रूप से इस वर्ष के लिए लाइफटाइम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड मिला है।
के नटराजन भारतीय तटरक्षक के नए महानिदेशक होंगे
कृष्णस्वामी नटराजन को भारतीय तटरक्षक के अगले महानिदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। वह राजेंद्र सिंह की जगह लेंगे जो साढ़े तीन साल की शानदार सेवा के बाद सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं।
के. नटराजन 18 जनवरी, 1984 को तटरक्षक बल में शामिल हो गए, और मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय से रक्षा और सामरिक अध्ययन में स्नातकोत्तर उपाधि प्राप्त की।
ड्रग एब्यूज के खिलाफ 17 वीं दौड़
केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्री ने नई दिल्ली में “ड्रग एब्यूज एंड इलिसिट ट्रैफिकिंग के खिलाफ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस” के अवसर पर “17 वें रन अगेंस्ट ड्रग एब्यूज” को हरी झंडी दिखाई। “पहले सुनो” को नशीली दवाओं के प्रयोग की रोकथाम के लिए समर्थन बढ़ाने के लिए विषय के रूप में चुना गया। ।
तेलंगाना ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बीज परीक्षण संघ (ISTA) कांग्रेस की मेजबानी करता की
तेलंगाना ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बीज परीक्षण संघ (ISTA) कांग्रेस के 32 वें संस्करण की मेजबानी की। यह एशिया में आयोजित होने वाले ISTA कांग्रेस का पहला संस्करण है।
80 से अधिक देशों के वैज्ञानिक, नीति निर्माता, शोधकर्ता और सार्वजनिक और निजी बीज उद्योग के सदस्य कांग्रेस में भाग ले रहे हैं। आठ दिवसीय कांग्रेस का मुख्य कार्यक्रम तीन दिनों के लिए होगा और तकनीकी समिति की बैठकें/ सत्र अगले पांच दिनों में आयोजित किए जाएंगे।
हेल्थ रैंकिंग में केरल सबसे ऊपर: NITI Aayog रिपोर्ट
NITI Aayog के स्वास्थ्य सूचकांक में केरल शीर्ष पर है। केरल के बाद आंध्र प्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र आते हैं। इसके अलावा, हरियाणा, राजस्थान और झारखंड ने आधार से संदर्भ वर्ष तक स्वास्थ्य परिणामों में अधिकतम सुधार दिखाया।
स्वास्थ्य सूचकांक, विश्व बैंक से तकनीकी सहायता के साथ, स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय के परामर्श से NITI Aayog द्वारा विकसित किया गया है।
रिपोर्ट में राज्यों और केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों को उनके स्वास्थ्य के परिणामों में साल-दर-साल वृद्धि, साथ ही साथ एक-दूसरे के संबंध में उनके समग्र प्रदर्शन पर अभिनव रूप से बताया गया है।
Qu Dongyu FAO के प्रमुख बने
Qu Dongyu संयुक्त राष्ट्र के खाद्य और कृषि संगठन (FAO) का प्रमुख बनने वाले पहले चीनी नागरिक बन गये हैं।
Qu Dongyu ब्राज़ील के जोस ग्राज़ियानो दा सिल्वा का स्थान लेंगे। वह प्रशिक्षण से एक जीवविज्ञानी है और उसे कृषि में डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकी विकसित करने और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सूक्ष्म ऋण शुरू करने का 30 साल का अनुभव है।
देश की प्रमुख जासूस एजेंसियों IB & RAW के लिए नए प्रमुख
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने देश की प्रमुख जासूसी एजेंसियों- इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो (IB) और रिसर्च एंड एनालिसिस विंग (RAW) के लिए नए प्रमुखों का नाम दिया है।
- अरविंद कुमार सरकार की मुख्य आंतरिक खुफिया इकाई, इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो का प्रमुख होगा। वह राजीव जैन को सफल करेगा।
- सामंत गोयल रॉ की कमान संभालेंगे, जो देश की बाहरी बुद्धिमत्ता की देखभाल करता है। वह अनिल धस्माना का स्थान लेंगे।
एन सरनॉफ़ वार्नर ब्रदर्स की पहली महिला सीईओ बनीं
एटीएंडटी इंक का हिस्सा वार्नर मीडिया ने ऐन सरनॉफ को वार्नर ब्रदर्स का मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है। एन सरनॉफ़ वार्नर ब्रदर्स की पहली महिला सीईओ बन गई हैं। वह केविन त्सुझारे की जगह लेंगी।

Amitabh Kant gets two year extension as NITI Aayog CEO
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Amitabh Kant’s tenure as the CEO of NITI Ayog beyond June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2021.
31.4% of Indian children will be stunted by 2022: Food and Nutrition Security Report
Recently released Food and Nutrition Security Report stated that 31.4% of Indian children will be stunted by 2022. Which means one in every three Indian children less than five years will be stunted by 2022.
In States like Bihar (48%) and Uttar Pradesh (46%), almost one in two children are stunted, while it is only one in five children in Kerala and Goa (20% each).
The report is prepared by the UN World Food Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation

The Redink Awards for Excellence in Journalism is conferred to encourage good quality reporting and analysis, fair play and high ethical standards in Indian journalism.
The following are the winners of awards in different categories:
- Rachna Khaira of The Tribune has bagged the prestigious RedInk Award for ‘Journalist of the Year’. She won it for exposing the functioning of the UIDAI and its Aadhaar data cache.
- Two retired senior journalists Dinu Ranadive from the Maharashtra Times, and Sebastian D’Souza, from the Mumbai Mirror, have jointly received the Lifetime Achievement Award for this year.
K Natarajan to be the new director general of Indian Coast Guard
Krishnaswamy Natarajan has been appointed as the next director general of Indian Coast Guard. He will replace the incumbent Rajendra Singh who is retiring after three and a half years of illustrious service.
- Natarajan joined the Coast Guard on January 18, 1984, and holds a Masters Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University.

Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment flagged off “17th Run Against Drug Abuse” on the occasion of “International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” in New Delhi. ‘Listen First’ was chosen as the theme to increase the support for prevention of drug use.
Telangana hosts International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) congress
Telangana hosts 32nd edition of the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) Congress. This is the first edition of ISTA congress to be held in Asia.
Scientists, policy makers, researchers and members of public and private seed industry from over 80 countries are participating in the congress. The eight-day congress would have the main event for three days and technical committee meetings/sessions would be held over the next five days.
Kerala tops health rankings: NITI Aayog report
Kerala has topped in NITI Aayog’s Health Index followed by Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Also, Haryana, Rajasthan and Jharkhand showed the maximum improvement of health outcomes from base to reference year.
The health index has been developed by NITI Aayog, with technical assistance from the World Bank, in consultation with the ministry of health and family welfare.
The report ranks the states and Union territories innovatively on their year-on-year incremental change in health outcomes, as well as, their overall performance with respect to each other.
Qu Dongyu becomes head of FAO
Qu Dongyu becomes the first Chinese national to head the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Qu Dongyu will replace Brazil’s Jose Graziano da Silva. He is a biologist by training and has 30 years of experience in developing digital technologies in agriculture and introducing micro credit in rural areas.
New heads for the country’s premier spy agencies IB & RAW
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has named new heads for the country’s premier spy agencies – the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Research & Analysis Wing (RAW).
- Arvind Kumar will head the Intelligence Bureau, the main internal intelligence unit of the government. He will succeed Rajiv Jain.
- Samant Goel will take charge of the RAW, which looks after the external intelligence of the country. He will succeed Anil Dhasmana.
Ann Sarnoff becomes the first female CEO of Warner Bros
WarnerMedia, part of AT&T Inc, has appointed Ann Sarnoff as the chief executive officer of Warner Bros. Ann Sarnoff has become the first female CEO of Warner Bros. She will be replacing Kevin Tsujihara.
