  1. National Statistics day celebrated on 29th June

Government of India is celebrated National Statistics day on 29th June on the birth anniversary of Prof. PC Mahalanobis. The National Statistics Day is celebrated to create awareness among youth about the role of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy formulation. Statistics Day to popularize the use of Statistics in everyday life and sensitize the public as to how Statistics helps in shaping and framing policies.

The National Statistics Day was first celebrated on 29th June 2007. The Government of India decided to celebrate the outstanding contribution made by Late Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in the field of economic planning and statistical development and hence mark his birth anniversary as ‘National Statistics Day’.

  1. Arjun Munda inaugurates Tribes India store on GeM

Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda has inaugurated the TRIBES India store on the Government eMarketplace (GEM). TRIBES India store will help in facilitating purchases by Government. Along with the products, the minister also launched the TRIFED’s new website (trifed.tribal.gov.in). This newly launched website contains all important information about the schemes as well as initiatives underway to the benefit of tribal communities.

The products and the website were launched during a webinar organised by TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal affairs with focus on “TRIFED Goes Digital” and “Be Vocal for Local”.

  1. Indian Navy inducts Advanced Torpedo Decoy System “Maareech”

The Indian Navy has inducted an advanced anti-torpedo decoy system called ‘Maareech’. This system has been designed and developed indigenously by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and it’s capable of detecting, locating and neutralizing incoming torpedo. The prototype of this technique installed onboard a nominated naval platform had successfully completed all user evaluation trials and demonstrated the features as per the Naval Staff Qualification Requirements.

This induction not only stands testimony to the joint resolve of the Indian Navy and DRDO towards indigenous development of defence technology but has also given a serious fillip to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and therefore the country’s resolve to become ‘atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) in niche technology.

  1. UN honours Kerala Health Minister K.K Shailaja

Kerala Health Minister K.K Shailaja was honoured by the United Nations. She was honoured for her efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic in her state. Shailaja was praised for maintaining low mortality rates within the state thanks to early intervention. Kerala, which recorded India’s first coronavirus cases, has been successful in flattening the curve.

Shailaja was the only speaker from the country to speak on the strategies adopted by Kerala to curb COVID-19 transmission. She was one among several leaders across the world invited to speak on the occasion of United Nations Public Service Day.

  1. PhonePe tie-up with ICICI Bank on UPI multi bank model

PhonePe has partnered with ICICI Bank on UPI multi-bank model. Through this partnership, Phonepe giving its users the option to create and use multiple UPI IDs with ICICI and Yes Bank’s handles on the PhonePe app. The PhonePe customers will now be able to choose between multiple handles for their UPI IDs, thus making payments easy, secure and accessible to all.

  1. Ministry of Culture celebrates “Sankalp Parva”

The Ministry of Culture is celebrating the “Sankalp Parva” from 28th June to 12 July 2020. This initiative has been launched following the call of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to plant at least five trees either in Office campus or wherever it is possible in order to ensure clean and healthy environment of the country.

Under the “Sankalp Parva” celebrations, Ministry of Culture expects its Subordinate Offices, Academies, Attached Institutions as well as Affiliated Institutions to plant trees in its campus or at the surroundings wherever it is possible. The ministry also recommended five trees which represents the herbal heritage of our country. These are: Awla, Bel, Pepal, Bargad, Ashok.

  1. Piyush Goyal chairs 49th Governing Council Meeting of NPC

Shri Piyush Goyal, Commerce & Industry Minister and President of NPC Governing Council chaired the 49th Governing Council Meeting of National Productivity Council (NPC). NPC is an autonomous body which comes under the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The meeting witnessed the participation of Government Officers, Leaders of Industry Associations, Industry captains, Trade Union leaders, Productivity Councils of States and other eminent personalities.

The participants in the meeting deliberated on increasing the productivity levels of the India in various sectors.

  1. राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस 29 जून को मनाया गया

भारत सरकार ने प्रो. पीसी महालनोबिस की जयंती पर 29 जून को राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस मनाया। राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस सामाजिक-आर्थिक नियोजन और नीति निर्माण में सांख्यिकी की भूमिका के बारे में युवाओं में जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। सांख्यिकी दिवस रोजमर्रा की जिंदगी में सांख्यिकी के उपयोग को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए और जनता को इस बात के लिए संवेदनशील बनाता है कि सांख्यिकी नीतियों को आकार देने और तैयार करने में कैसे मदद करती है।

राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस पहली बार 29 जून 2007 को मनाया गया था। भारत सरकार ने आर्थिक नियोजन और सांख्यिकीय विकास के क्षेत्र में स्वर्गीय प्रोफेसर प्रशांत चंद्र महालनोबिस द्वारा किए गए उत्कृष्ट योगदान का जश्न मनाने का फैसला किया और इसलिए उनकी जयंती को ‘राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी दिवस’ के रूप में चिह्नित किया गया। ।

  1. अर्जुन मुंडा ने GeM पर ट्राइब्स इंडिया स्टोर का उद्घाटन किया

जनजातीय मामलों के केंद्रीय मंत्री, अर्जुन मुंडा ने सरकारी eMarketplace (GEM) पर TRIBES इंडिया स्टोर का उद्घाटन किया है। ट्राइब्स इंडिया स्टोर सरकार द्वारा खरीद को सुविधाजनक बनाने में मदद करेगा। उत्पादों के साथ, मंत्री ने TRIFED की नई वेबसाइट (trifed.tribal.gov.in) भी लॉन्च की। इस नई लॉन्च की गई वेबसाइट में योजनाओं के बारे में सभी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी के साथ-साथ आदिवासी समुदायों के लाभ के लिए पहल चल रही है।

  1. भारतीय नौसेना ने उन्नत टॉरपीडो डेको सिस्टम “मारीच” को शामिल किया

भारतीय नौसेना ने एक उन्नत एंटी-टारपीडो डिकॉय सिस्टम को ‘मारीच’ को शामिल किया है। यह प्रणाली रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) द्वारा स्वदेशी रूप से डिजाइन और विकसित की गई है और यह आने वाले टॉरपीडो का पता लगाने, पता लगाने और बेअसर करने में सक्षम है। इस तकनीक के प्रोटोटाइप ने एक नामित नौसेना मंच पर जहाज स्थापित किया था, जिसने सभी उपयोगकर्ता मूल्यांकन परीक्षणों को सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया था और नौसेना स्टाफ योग्यता आवश्यकताओं के अनुसार सुविधाओं का प्रदर्शन किया था।

  1. UN ने केरल के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री केके शैलजा को सम्मानित किया

केरल के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री केके शैलजा को संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया। उसे अपने राज्य में कोरोनोवायरस महामारी से लड़ने के प्रयासों के लिए सम्मानित किया गया था। प्रारंभिक हस्तक्षेप के लिए राज्य के भीतर कम मृत्यु दर बनाए रखने के लिए शैलजा की प्रशंसा की गई। केरल, जिसने भारत के पहले कोरोनावायरस मामलों को दर्ज किया, वक्र को समतल करने में सफल रहा।

COVID-19 ट्रांसमिशन पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए केरल द्वारा अपनाई गई रणनीतियों पर बोलने के लिए शैलजा देश से एकमात्र स्पीकर थीं। वह संयुक्त राष्ट्र लोक सेवा दिवस के अवसर पर बोलने के लिए आमंत्रित दुनिया भर के कई नेताओं में से एक थीं।

  1. यूपीआई मल्टी बैंक मॉडल पर PhonePe ने ICICI बैंक के साथ टाई-अप किया

PhonePe ने UPI मल्टी-बैंक मॉडल पर ICICI बैंक के साथ साझेदारी की है। इस साझेदारी के माध्यम से, फोनपे ने अपने उपयोगकर्ताओं को फोनपे ऐप पर ICICI और यस बैंक के हैंडल के साथ कई UPI आईडी बनाने और उपयोग करने का विकल्प दिया। PhonePe ग्राहक अब अपने UPI ID के लिए कई हैंडल के बीच चयन कर पाएंगे, जिससे भुगतान आसान, सुरक्षित और सभी के लिए सुलभ हो जाएगा।

  1. संस्कृति मंत्रालय ने “संकल्प पर्व” मनाया

संस्कृति मंत्रालय 28 जून से 12 जुलाई 2020 तक “संकल्प पर्व” मना रहा है। यह पहल भारत के प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आह्वान पर शुरू की गई है, जहां या तो कार्यालय परिसर में या जहां भी संभव हो, कम से कम पांच पेड़ लगाने चाहिए। ताकि देश का स्वच्छ और स्वस्थ वातावरण सुनिश्चित हो सके।

“संकल्प पर्व” समारोहों के तहत, संस्कृति मंत्रालय को अपने अधीनस्थ कार्यालयों, अकादमियों, संलग्न संस्थानों के साथ-साथ संबद्ध संस्थानों को अपने परिसर में या जहां भी संभव हो, वहां पेड़ लगाने की उम्मीद है। मंत्रालय ने पांच पेड़ों की सिफारिश की है जो हर्बल का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं। हमारे देश की विरासत। ये हैं: आवला, बेल, पीपल, बरगद, अशोक।

  1. पीयूष गोयल ने एनपीसी की 49 वीं गवर्निंग काउंसिल की बैठक की अध्यक्षता की
