Central Government sets up PM-CARES Funds to fight against COVID-19
Prime Minister Modi announced PM-CARES Fund. The fund is being raised to deal with the distress or emergency as that of COVID-19 pandemic. PM-CARES is Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations fund. It is a dedicated fund with the primary objective to deal with threats like COVID-19. A trust has been created to collect these funds. Prime Minister of India is the Chairman of the trust. The other members of the trust include Finance Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister.
India to participate in WHO trials of COVID-19
ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) announced that World Health India is to participate in Organization trials of WHO (World Health Organization). The trials are to identify potential cures for the outbreak of COVID-19. So far, the COVID-19 infected cases were few in numbers that India could not participate in the trials. Now with the number of cases increasing to 940, India becomes eligible to participate in the WHO solidarity trials. The WHO has launched 4 mega trials. The trials include the use of drugs such as hydroxychloroquine, currently used by India and also HIV drugs such as Lopinavir and Ritonavir.
Supreme Court Extends Deadline of Transition from BS IV to BS VI
With the Nation-wide Lock Down to contain the spread of Corona Virus, the Supreme Court extended transition from BS IV to BS VI by 10 more days. Initially the deadline was March 31, 2020. However, the order does not apply to the National Capital Region. The order comes after the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association moved to the Supreme court to relax the deadline to sell their stocks of BS IV vehicles. According to the petition filed by the association, currently there are 7 lakhs unsold two wheelers, 12,000 commercial vehicles and 15,000 cars of BS IV standard.
Indian Railways prepares train coaches for isolation units for COVID-19 patients
The Indian Railways have prepared a prototype of train coaches that can be used as isolation units for COVID-19 patients. The move is to face challenges that might be caused due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. Highlights: Initially, 10 coaches will be converted into isolation units for those affected by COVID- 19. There are 17 zones in Indian Railways.
India, Japan signed major rail projects for public, freight transport
Japanese government funding agency JICA signed Rs.15,295 crore agreement with the Indian government for three mega rail infrastructure projects. Aim: The agreement aims to cope up with the increase in freight transport demand in India by constructing new dedicated freight railway system between Delhi and Mumbai.

Tech giant Apple has released a new dedicated app and website for users across the US. The
app provides accurate and credible information to users about the COVID-19 pandemic. App features: The new COVID-19 app and website provide the needed guidance and latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The app has been made available on the App Store.
Nagaland CM launches Self Declaration COVID-19 App
Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio launched the Self Declaration COVID-19 Nagaland App at Kohima on 28 March. The app is aimed to trace the person who entered the state, as a measure to tackle the spread of Coronavirus. Self Declaration COVID-19 Nagaland App: The app will be mandatory for any person who entered Nagaland after 6th March. The app is available for Android and iOS users.
275 Indians evacuated from coronavirus-hit Iran, quarantined in Rajasthan
A batch of 275 Indians evacuated from coronavirus-hit Iran arrived at the Jodhpur airport in Rajasthan on Sunday, an official said. After the screening process, all evacuees were shifted to the isolation centre in the Indian Army’s wellness centre. The 275 citizens included 142 men, 133 women, two infants and four children, said Rohit Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Health).

केंद्र सरकार ने COVID-19 से लड़ने के लिए PM-CARES फंड की स्थापना की

भारत COVID-19 के डब्ल्यूएचओ परीक्षणों में भाग लेगा

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने BS IV से BS VI की समय सीमा बढ़ाई
कोरोना वायरस के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए राष्ट्रव्यापी लॉक डाउन के साथ, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने BS IV से BS VI में संक्रमण को 10 और दिनों तक बढ़ा दिया। प्रारंभ में समय सीमा 31 मार्च, 2020 थी। हालांकि, यह आदेश राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र पर लागू नहीं होता है। आदेश ऑटोमोबाइल डीलर्स एसोसिएशन के फेडरेशन द्वारा बीएस IV वाहनों के अपने स्टॉक को बेचने की समय सीमा को शिथिल करने के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट में स्थानांतरित होने के बाद आया है। एसोसिएशन द्वारा दायर याचिका के अनुसार, वर्तमान में 7 लाख अनसोल्ड टू व्हीलर, 12,000 वाणिज्यिक वाहन और बीएस IV मानक की 15,000 कारें हैं।

भारत, जापान ने सार्वजनिक, माल परिवहन के लिए प्रमुख रेल परियोजनाओं पर हस्ताक्षर किए
जापानी सरकार के वित्त पोषण एजेंसी JICA ने तीन मेगा रेल अवसंरचना परियोजनाओं के लिए भारत सरकार के साथ 15,295 करोड़ रुपये के समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। उद्देश्य: इस समझौते का उद्देश्य दिल्ली और मुंबई के बीच नई समर्पित माल रेलवे प्रणाली का निर्माण करके भारत में माल परिवहन की मांग में वृद्धि का सामना करना है।

नागालैंड के मुख्यमंत्री ने स्व-घोषणा COVID-19 ऐप लॉन्च किया
नागालैंड के मुख्यमंत्री नीफिउ रियो ने 28 मार्च को कोहिमा में सेल्फ डिक्लेरेशन COVID-19 नागालैंड ऐप लॉन्च किया। ऐप का उद्देश्य राज्य में प्रवेश करने वाले व्यक्ति का पता लगाना है, जो कोरोनोवायरस के प्रसार से निपटने के उपाय के रूप में है। स्व घोषणा COVID-19 नागालैंड ऐप, 6 मार्च के बाद नागालैंड में प्रवेश करने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति के लिए ऐप अनिवार्य होगा। ऐप एंड्रॉइड और iOS उपयोगकर्ताओं के लिए उपलब्ध है।

275 भारतीयों का एक बैच कोरोनोवायरस प्रभावित ईरान से निकाला गया था, जो रविवार को राजस्थान के जोधपुर हवाई अड्डे पर पहुंचा थ। स्क्रीनिंग प्रक्रिया के बाद, सभी निकासी को भारतीय सेना के वेलनेस सेंटर में क्वारंटाइन केंद्र में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। रोहित कुमार सिंह, अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव (स्वास्थ्य) ने कहा कि 275 नागरिकों में 142 पुरुष, 133 महिलाएं, दो शिशु और चार बच्चे शामिल हैं।
