Eligibility Details for SSC Junior Hindi Translator Exam: – SSC conduct Junior Hindi Translator (in Subordinate Offices) exam, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak (Central Hindi Training Institute.) Eligibility details are given below:-
Nationality/ Citizenship:-
A candidate must be either:
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Nepal, or
(c) A subject of Bhutan, or
(d) Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after, the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/ her by the Government of India.
Age Limit: – Age should not be exceed above 30 years.
Permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for different categories is as under:-

Educational Qualification:-
For Junior Hindi Translators (CSOLs):-
Essential:-
(i) (a) Master’s Degree of a recognised University or equivalent in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level
OR
(b) Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree IeveI
OR
(c) Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level:
And
(ii) Recognized Diploma or certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa or Two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State Government Ofiices including Government of India Undertakings.
(iii) (d) Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
OR
(e) Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)
(iv) (f) Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
OR
(g) Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree Ievel either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
Note: –
(i) Two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary Ievel under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution.
(ii) As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification No. 44 dated 01- 03-1995 published in Gazette of India edition dated 08-04-1995, the Degree obtained through open Universities/ Distance Education Mode needs to be recognised by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized tor the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not he accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
(iii) Candidates who have not acquired but will acquire the educational qualification and acquire documentary evidence from the Board/University in support will also be eligible.
